Malt Shi-Tzu – Maltese cross Shi-Tzu alt

Low exercise required, great indoor dogs

The choice for families with young children as well as older people

These dogs are great for people with young children or as companions for

older people. They don’t require a lot of exercise and are content with a

brief walk and spending the  day lazing around. They make a great indoor

dog, as they only shed lightly and have an easy care coat requiring a little

brushing and clipping every six months.

Maltalier – Maltese cross King Charles Cavalier Spaniel

Moderate exercise required, indoor or outdoor dogs

Suitable for families

Like the Malt Shi-Tzu, the Maltalier has a sweet nature and fits very well into a family

environment. They are slightly more energetic and will enjoy a short run or some ball games.

They are indoor or outdoor dogs with similar maintenance requirements as the Malt Shi-Tzu.

Moodle - Maltese cross Poodle,

Schnoodle – Schnauzer cross Poodle

Cavoodle – King Charles Spaniel cross Poodle

Moderate exercise required, great indoor dogs

Suitable for families

These three breeds are very popular family pets. The Poodle is one of the world’s most

intelligent dogs and this is reflected on the behaviour of these crosses. Note that this

intelligence can sometimes lead to the dog being in charge, so these crosses need

firm training. They all have a moderate energy level and will enjoy short runs, walks

and games. The main advantage is the low maintenance coat thrown by the Poodle,

which also reduces shedding, making them great indoor dogs and better companions

for asthma and allergy sufferers.

Spoodle – Cocker Spaniel cross Poodle

Moderate exercise required, great indoor dogs

Great choice for families with children

Energetic, gentle and intelligent. The Spoodle was one of the original crosses to be

given it’s own title and has played a major role in the increasing popularity of what

are now know as ‘Designer Dogs’. They are one of the most popular and suitable

family pets, as they are low maintenance, low shedding and have a kind and

loyal nature. Thus making them a perfect choice for people with children.

Pure Cocker Spaniels and Cavockers – King Charles Cavalier Spaniel cross Cocker Spaniel

Moderate exercise required, great outdoor dogs

Great choice for outdoor families

Considered medium size dogs, the pure Cocker Spaniel and the Cavocker are very

similar in appearance and nature. A pure Cocker Spaniel tends to be a little more

excitable than a Cavocker, which are generally a more gentle pet.

Both require some maintenance, especially around the ears, where long hair needs

some brushing or occasional trimming to avoid matting.

Pugalier – Pug cross King Charles Cavalier Spaniel alt

Moderate exercise required, great outdoor dogs

Great choice for any owner

These smooth coated pups are very aware of their surroundings and have lots of energy.

They tend to be very sure of themselves and often have a comical appeal about them.

They are very loyal and so make great companions for all different types of people.

Pugaliers have a low maintenance coat and shed moderately.

Pugle- Pug cross Beagle

Moderate exercise required, great outdoor dogs

Great choice for families with children

These robust little dogs have lots of energy and are very curious. The require

moderate levels of exercise and a reasonable size yard. Like the Pugalier, they

require little or no maintenance. They will shed and hence are not recommended

as an inside dog.

Beagalie - Beagle cross King Charles Cavalier Spaniel

Moderate exercise required, great outdoor dogs

Perfect choice for families with children

These pups make great companions for children and families with a reasonable

amount of room. Like the Pugles, they are energetic, curious and require some exercise.

They are low maintenance, but will shed and would not be recommended as an inside dog.

Pure Beagles

High exercise required, great outdoor dogs

Perfect choice for energetic owners

Pure Beagles were originally bred for hunting; it is part of their nature and it is very

important that the person buying them understands this. They have a friendly

nature and can make very rewarding pets, however, they require a huge

amount of work. Beagles require lots and lots of exercise, a big yard with secure

fences and something to entertain them constantly. They make a great companion

for someone who likes to jog regularly.

Labradors, Golden Retrievers, Labrador cross Golden Retrievers

High exercise required, great outdoor dogs

Great choice for owners with a lot of space

All large dogs require lots of exercise and room. Pure Labradors tend to be the most

active of the three dogs mentioned here. They have boundless energy and seem to

stay puppies well into their second or third year. Golden Retrievers and Lab cross

Golden Retrievers are slightly quieter, but still require a lot of dedication and can

also retain the characteristics and personality of a puppy well into adult life.

All three are extremely loyal and mature into great family pets. As with any dog,

they must be watched closely around young children, simply because they

tend to get very excited, causing them to be a bit boisterous.
