King Charles Cavalier

The King Charles Cavalier is the perfect breed for you.
King Charles Cavaliers are great dogs and are perfect for older owners with a lower exercise requirement. They really like to be treated like a human and many older retirees really enjoy the company of the King Charles Cavalier. They like all types of people and have love for everyone who walks in your door.
They will enjoy being in the house with you and you may find them taking over your favourite chair! They will want to sit on your knee, and their favourite thing in life is being around you. They are very easy to train, and will retain simple sit, stay, drop type of commands as long as you continue to use them.
King Charles Cavaliers have a longer coat, but it is still a lower shedding dog. These dogs adapt extremely well to smaller yards and inside living such as in apartments. Their main priority is being near their owners.

Cocker Spaniel

The cocker spaniel is the perfect breed for you.
Cocker spaniels are really good with children, especially young school kids with alot of energy to burn! They love to chase balls, go for walks and jump around.
They are not bred with a poodle so they will shed some hair, but are a low shedding dog. Their coats are flat and silky and are a much loved part of this breed. You will need to brush the hair weekly to make sure that there is no knots, and they will require grooming at certain times of the year (e.g. going into summer) but there is a lesser requirement for ongoing monthly grooming than the ‘oodle’ breeds.
